Macedonia recommended as candidate for EU entry (Reuters)

BRUSSELS - The European Commission recommended on Wednesday that the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia, which came close to civil war four years ago, should be made a candidate for European Union membership.

LoA, exactly, I don't understand what the hurry is to include new members all the time anyway. What's the logic behind that? THat's a sure way to make this whole thing not work. A bit more time maybe? Why the hurry? Make it work with the latest members first, when tis' working 100%, then open the doors for new members. Soon the EU spreads to outside Europe at this rate, and then it's called what? EU+then some?

You know if we spread the EU faster, we can create the new UN thingie, and then because everyone is a member, there are no problems except inner problems, but those are not so dangerous like the outside problems.
