I guess that you never has been close to a real handgranade - if you remove the pin and toss it to another, then the trigger releases and in 3-5 secs the thingy explodes.
If you want to give a grenade to another after removing the pin, you do it very carefully confirming that the other has a firm grip on it before you let go.With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
