You gotta wonder if the guy is high.
The Flames haven't been as hot as this in 11 years.
If they win in Detroit on Wednesday, it'll tie the franchise record for consecutive wins...last time set in 88-89 when we went on to take the cup.

Isn't that kind of low?To us, it is the BEAST.

Problem is, it's a goalie who's hot. The Flames are seriously lame in offence.Originally posted by Asher

The Flames aren't going to be able to ride Kipper all year. Sooner or later it strikes midnight and it's pumkin time unless the offence gets in gear.(\__/)

Kipper hasn't been "hot" in the past 4 games, just good.
You forget that not all teams have abysmally bad goalies like Edmonton.
The offence in the past 3-4 games has been clicking."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I will readily agree that Calgary has the best defence in the NHL (the Kipper/blueline combo).
Isn't the saying "defense wins championships"?

I'm not sure where the "seriously lame offense" is anyway, in the past 4 games we've scored 4, 4, 5, and 3 goals... I don't consider that lame.
In the past 7 games, we're 22-12.
So I got the memo, and it seems to be favouring Calgary's defense heavily. Phaneuf especially is renowned for his open-ice hits and powerplay shots, both of which are very valuable in the "new" nhl. It also favours fast teams like Calgary. The recent Flames record speaks for itself. The new NHL rocks."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

ah, but the three games before that, the offense averaged 2 goals per game...
you were just lucky the opposition could only generate 1 goal in those 3 games
and two of those teams were Minnesota and Columbus... weak teams... the third game was a 1-0 victory over Vancouver...To us, it is the BEAST.

Minnesota isn't exactly a weak team, in fact their two goalies are very, very good. Minnesota ranks behind only Ottawa, Detroit and Nashville in goals against.Originally posted by Sava

In his mailbag, the guy responded that his rankings are mostly to do with how well the top line is doing statistically, and how well the goalie is doing.Originally posted by Asher
Can someone explain to me how the TSN power rankings work? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=548&hubname=
Today's ratings are perplexing.
Detroit is #3, winning 3 of the last 6 (with the wins against low-ranking teams), up from #4.
Calgary is...#14, having won 7 in a row now.
Edmonton is #13 -- wtf?

Overall, a bad system of ranking.Resident Filipina Lady Boy Expert.
