I'm letting the wife give Civ4 to me for Xmas. That will give them time to get the bugs out, which is especially important for me since my computer has an ATI Radeon card. I've heard that Civ4 has some compatibility issues with ATI cards. Hopefully they'll be all ironed out in 2 months.

Quake 4 is another matter. I may go out and buy it myself.

Yep, OT is very slow at the moment.

Like many others, I'm silent because I'm into Civ IV now.

I swoe I wouldn't buy Civ4 until a good patch came out but I saw it at the store and had a moment of weakness.

I've been:

1) Writing a Linux scheduler (multilevel feedback-queueing algorithm) for my operating systems class
2) Preparing a design document for my software engineering class
3) Preparing a presentation on the "Interpreter" software engineering design pattern
4) Watching hockey
5) Playing NHL 2K6...and anxiously awaiting NHL 2K6 for Xbox 360, which I've preordered.

In addition to being in high-def with the latest rosters, models, and animations and fully 3D crowds...it adds a new feature, which was actually designed based on a suggestion by Marty Turco (who did the motion-captured goalie animations for NHL 2K6). You can switch to the goalie view/control to save shots instantly with the press of a button; but this is most useful for the shootouts.

Not that I normally post much in here (except hockey and some Canadian threads), but I can now answer this question in the affirmative, having finally picked up a copy of Civ4 today!
