No fundamental right of parents to be exclusive provider of sexual info to their kids

I think that, frankly, it's socially irresponsibly for parents not to teach their children about sex. To use Bertrand Russell's example, imagine you have a child, and every time he travels on a train, his parents blindfold him and shield his ears. Will, after 18 years of this, when he is an adult, he be as disinterested and indifferent to trains as his parents intended? No. He'll have a morbid, obsessive fascination with that from which he was forbidden.

Sex, being more interesting than trains, will compound that perverse situation. If the parents are irresponsible not to give their child sufficient useful information to survive in what is a harsh world, then they should not have the right to decide on the matter.

these are 1, 3, and 5th graders

sex ed in the US generally starts arround 5th..

these are 6, 8, and 10 year olds

no 6, 8, or 10 yearold, who hasn't been abused, should think abotu sex all the time, or not trust people because they might want sex
