Our flexibility is so great if we accept 45 minutes. Those with 20 mins. or less are lazy bastards

        5 minutes by taxi

        >30 minutes by bus.

My old job here was at least 40 minutes by bus.

I walked to work when I was in the US. 5-10 minutes

~35 minutes by metro, ~15 by bike, depending on traffic.

I live 2 miles from work. It takes about 4 minutes in the car, 8 minutes on the bus or 30 minutes to walk. I hate commuting. The longest I ever had to commute was 5 miles, which I did on a bike during the warm months and on a bus during the cold months.

32 KM one way. And that's 30 KM too long for this country boy.
                    What?

Thing with Potsdam Uni is, there's no central area for student life. If there was loads of students' culture on one of the campi, many more would live there, and vice versa. But this uni is very decentral and students live all over the area (some as far East as Lichtenberg, funny enough it never takes longer than an hour for them to get to uni), so 45 mins is a pretty average number. If you live in Potsdam, you save only 15 minutes or so. It doesn't really matter if I take a packed tram from Am Stern to Potsdam Hbf that goes 16 mins, or if I take a packed S-Bahn from Rathaus Steglitz there taking about 30 mins.

It is 10 steps from our bed to my desk.

                            (Yes, I work from home.)

About seven reasonably long blocks. Door to door in the morning when I take a street car is probably 15 minutes, given that I have to walk two short blocks to get to the nearest stop. I usually walk home in the evening. Takes about 20 minutes.
