How long before the Right-wing propaganda machine uses this and starts saying that all the major anti-war people got rich off of oil-for-food?

Prolly longer than it took for the Left-wing propaganda machine to start saying that all the major pro-war people are getting rich off the oil and government contracting industries.

That is the great irony in this. The anti-war movement was all too eager to claim that America went to war in Iraq for oil, but now it's becoming increasingly clear that many countries and leaders who were at the forefront of the anti-war movement were on the take.

The Galloway-Hitchens debates have been hilarious. Real bile-spitting stuff.
I saw one on C-SPAN and was actually expecting a debate, instead these guys just ripped each other apart.

              I just read this.

You brought it up. I might not have felt the need to state the obvious if you hadn't done so.

Ah, Saddam-era documents. Remember when the Iraqis submitted a big pile of them as proof that they'd destroyed their chemical and biological weapons? They weren't good enough then.

Now, when it comes to indicting various anti-war figures, they're suddenly useful.

                        I have to laugh.

Not only has the entire stated basis for the war been discredited, but the claims of those who said that Iraquis would greet the US troops as liberators have been proven completely wrongheaded, and to boot, Scooter Libby is going to get his ass kicked for trying to smear someone who told the truth.

None of you righties has any credibility on any issue connected with this daft war. You were wrong then, you are wrong now, and you will, in all likelihood, continue to be wrong.

Let's recap. You went to war to remove a danger that didn't exist, by conquering a people who, if they didn't already, now hate your guts. You alienated all your allies and your side lost the United States the greatest amount of political capital that any country has squandered since Uganda in the 70s. Your heroes have completely failed to capture Osama bin Laden, and are fast on their way to losing hold of Afghanistan. Everyone now knows that the mighty US military cannot win against a horde of gun toting teenagers. The United States is now the most hated regime in the world: by many of its former friends (except the Israelis, who are as nutty as you are).

Your government is simply incompetent, and everyone knows it.

Yet, the administrations tenured blowhards continue to repeat the same discredited claims over and over again, chugging away like some tired old sausage machine.

Some Americans might still believe it, because your press is sufficiently cowed, but no one else does.
                        Only feebs vote.

This thread amuses me if only for Agathon and Sandman's tired effort to avoid the issue and Ted's sad me too posts. After all I'm sure the UN is just out to get Galloway or something.

Do you really think there's anything on Galloway that'll stick in court? All this will accomplish is more publicity (and more money) for him. You're turning a disagreeable national politician into a worldwide anti-war celebrity.
