You know this week is just going down in the history of my life as quite a fuc*ed up week. Apparently there are four stores with the same street name and I called a different store then the one we purchased the yogurt from. The manager at the store I purchased it from took my name and the container and said he'd get back to me sometime today but as for the gift card that the other manager offered to keep us shopping there well he would have to get his manager to approve that even though plain as day right there on his badge just below his name it says MANAGER IN CHARGE!!!!! wouldn't you take that to mean you are the manager and can make that decision!
What the hell happened to customer service? You have plastic in your yogurt shouldn't you at least try to appease the customer so they don't take their business else where?
Welcome to earth, my name is Tia and I'll be your tour guide for this trip.

Most retail places might have a shift manager who is in charge while there but they probably consider this type of incident serious enough to kick it up the the general manager.
On the customer service side, someone should do something for you even though it isn't the store's fault. They obviously cannot know what is inside a sealed container.
On the legal side, your claim, if any would be against the manufacturer in negligence. In Canada you would get pretty close to diddly since no matter how grievous the negligence, you only recover based on the actual harm done. In the U.S., in TEXAS, in front of the jury, it is probably worth $12 billion

Well thank you very much for telling me that after I already gave him the plastic and the yogurt container

You will now get zilch.
I'm consitently stupid- Japher I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
Yea, get the $25 from the store, and then try to get something out of the yogurt company too. Its the American Dream
Ahhh and there in lies the beauty of this whole story it was the stores own personal brand that they make themselves right here in little ole san antonio texas! HA!!

Did one better. Called the coporate office to let them know just how unfriendly the "Manager in charge" was at the actual store I bought it from. He will be getting a call as well as they are checking up on it to see if he actually sent it to quality control or just threw it away.

They actually send those things somewhere? I would assume he threw it in the trash as soon as your back was turned.

Smart managers and reputable companies will want to at least look into the issue. In automated factories you rarely have any issue that only arises ONCE.

Yes, but she didn't buy it from the yogurt factory. She bought it from a supermarket, and the average supermarket worker probably doesn't care too much about the ogurt company's issue, or even their own liability.
