It was worse than that. McDonalds' execs made an explicit decision to keep the coffee scalding hot, even though they knew people were getting burned, because they did an analysis and deduced that the cost of paying settlements would be less than the cost of changing their operating procedure on the coffee.

Upon reading your post, I googled after skin graph and came across the most disturbing image ever. Thanks a lot. And now I'm still not sure what a skin graph is.
