When you start building the networks and .. basically realize that the rest of the world is already going into 3075th generation solutions, the snap shot is from situation now, if you try to get back on the horse, when you get back, you're falling back again.. Go for the near future at least. Crappy DSL lines, wtf is that. That's the old school, that's like dial up.

Also, you should be lookign into wireless connections more, because they should cover all that is real in the makings of lands of God of the Universe. Just for kicks. Wireless is cool.

My cable connection is so overcrowded that I can forget about online multiplaying (90+% packetloss) and especially in the evenings internet surfing is hell. There are hardly any ports open and P2P is automatically blocked, I can download 4GB/month and upload 1GB/month..
And the crap thing is: There is not a chance that I could ever dream of taking another connection; I just can't!

I don't use my computer that much anymore at college here you can understand :/

LC, yes they do. Seems I have the same deal as you, however my connection is paid in the rent, so it's by default if I use net or not. But it's practically free anyway.

Everytime I try to download nice amount of decent hetero porn from any US freak, it's usually slow. In Swedes we trust, they got the speed Personally, I don't want to wait more than 10 minutes for a movie. It's outrageous to wait longer.

uni connections are superior to all. I get 1.5Mbps/256Kbps, while in school I could be getting MUCH better numbers.

i pay 9 euro for a 10MBps connection via the uni...

funny story....my dad is working on LOFAR (low frequency array) it will be the biggest radio telecope in the world (covering the entire northern part of the netherlands parts of germany and even some station in the north sea) all connected with each other with something like a 10GBps connection...all the towns and city near those connection will also be able to get on the network greating a very cheap and VERY VERY VERY fast internet service...
