I am in a very distinct minority, but I attend church every single Sunday. It is almost two years now since I have recommitted myself to attending church and in that time I have not missed a single week of church no matter what I am doing or where I am.

I went to church fairly regularly with my parents when I was growing up. Not quite every single week, but most of the time. Sometimes I wouldn't want to go, or I'd sleep in. Sometimes it was an issue, but usually my parents wouldn't put up too much of a fight. So I wasn't really forced to go to church against my will.

After my grandparents died I think my mother lost faith a bit. She didn't attend church as often. Sometimes it was just me and my dad. Sometimes it was just my dad. I delivered newspapers, so the last half of high school I'd typically work from like midnight till 8 am or thereabouts, depending on how much I had, so I just went to bed after that. I'd sometimes go on Saturday's though, but probably about once a month.

It was about the same in college (without the newspapers), I'd go once or twice a month. I liked it, and my faith was strong, but I didn't make the effort to go every week.

Two years ago I committed myself to attending every week no matter what. With so much going on in our lives, am I really so selfish that I can't give one hour a week to God? Just one hour to reflect, to pray, to sing, to be at peace. Its a small price to pay for the gifts in my life, a sign of respect, and something I enjoy.

So yea, 100ish weeks of consecutive church attendance. I'm looking to be the Catholic Cal Ripkin.

We would sing socialist songs, learn a little history, some theory, and discuss current events. I'd just structure it like a church service. You know, make politics fun.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

when I was a kid we also went about everyweek

that pretty much stopped about the time of my parents devorce.. we stayed with my mom, and she started rarely going to church (but to be fair, I don't blame her, our church was full of hypocrisy, although to be fair out family wasn't very comfortable)

after that me and my younger brother went occasionally.. (my other siblings had mostly stopped going by that time, although I think my younger sister goes to her boyfrenids mother church or a freinds church on rare occasions)

in college I had to catch a ride, and there was always someone who was nice enough to provide one (despite going out of the way.. and despite me not being very dependable), I started going once a month or so then...

after my dad's death I didn't go to church for about a year, and I still haven't found one that I want to call home

it is hard to find one that is lively, where the people are freindly, etc (And where the people follow my beliefs)

I should try some more.. but most of the churchs of my denomination seem full of people who went to church school, etc... or to be about a particular immigrant group (The immigrant group churchs, like the filipino church, are often some of the nicest.. but I generally feel a bit strange..)

ah, well, I will try again next week

You got a ways to go, kid. My grandpa went every week for 80 years. (Actually dunno what they did during WWII; but I'm sure they did something.)

                    Myself, one-two times a month.

Well, somehow I think that the church - socialism concepts would blend smoothly - antiheresy and blasphemy will just match each other perfectly - only question is if such people should be shot in the backof the head or burned on a stake.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
