Laws allowing concealed weapons =! laws allowing to murder someone on the whim if you "feel" threatened.

You can have a concealed weapons law without having a threatened-motivated lethal defense law.

I'm sorry. I forgot that they killed people as sport in Florida. You'd think che would make more threads on that.

Wait a minute- given the fact that many black males feel threatened by the police, how does this law handle the shooting of police officers, specially if they are undercover?

            here it is

            Edit found the specific section:

            (2) The presumption set forth in subsection (1) does not apply if:

            (d) The person against whom the defensive force is used is a law enforcement officer, as defined in s. 943.10(14), who enters or attempts to enter a dwelling, residence, or vehicle in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person entering or attempting to enter was a law enforcement officer.

BTW, now that the law is in effect where are the rivers of blood that Odin, che, et al are predicting? Are they going to be found with Iraqi WMD?

                Hmmm . . . . . . .

gays gunning down "threatening" homophobes on the whim, and blacks gunning down "threatening" white racists on the whim.

Well, maybe DD is right -- maybe this law won't be so bad after all.

You take things to the exteme in any situation.

Someone has a weapon, gun or knife or club.
They confront you ona darkened street.
You feel that the law makers, by giving you recourse, are idiots.

One of the current advantages to the concealed carry laws is that, until this change was made, any intelligent person was loathe to shoot due to the risk to him and his family. The training my friend in law enforcement is giving me is not how to hit a target - my experience with rifles has made me able to meet those minimal requirements almost effortlessly (7 yard rnage) - but how to draw and maintain control of a weapon when someone moves up into body contact with you. In law enforcement parlance, maintaining control of your weapon - necessary if you hesitate too long. I have mixed feelings on this change. There WILL be an increased number of shootings over this, though I doubt "carnage" per se. However, intelligent people were not seriously hampered by the current laws, so I do understand why this makes people nervous. It is a state exercising its right to be an incubator for democracy.

NEWSFLASH. We don't need a law like this, because everyone already has the natural right to defend themselves!
