Though I was kind of pissed at the announcer... saying the penalty on the FG try had no bearing on the play! WTF does that matter?! There are penalties on defensive holding, on the opposite side of the field from a rollout... after the pass is released. No one says that wasn't part of the play so it shouldn't be called!

The announcers are paid to be stupid. It's how the networks lknow that people are really watching - people call up to complain.

Don't be so sensitive, Imran. They weren't saying it shouldn't be called. If anything, he was saying the Saints player was an idiot for being offside on the play.

It's just an announcer making an observation. And an accurate one.

Bradley might be good... I don't know. It appears as if the Minnesota Vikings were respecting his speed by allowing some of the underneath stuff to him today (according to the WMAQ 780AM radio broadcaster's assessment).

No, JRabbit, the announcer WAS actually saying they shouldn't have called it. If he was just saying the Saints guy was dumb, that's fine, but saying it shouldn't be called because it had 'nothing' to do with the kick? Well that's absurd.

I agree with . There was a note of disbelief in the announcers voice that the refs dared make that call, a call that didn't even *gasp* affect the kick!

When I heard that, I flashed back to Raghib Ismael of Notre Dame making that winning run/return against... Colorado, I think... back in 1990, 91. There was a hold call made 40 yards away from the play and to this day I remember the announcers complaining that refs shouldn't throw meaningless flags late in the game on big plays!
