Actually I expect the Jacksonville game to be really tough as our OL is banged up something rotten, it's a road game etc...

    I'd call it a 50/50 game really.
Chicago is a more talented team than Cleveland ... but we're not more mature, and we're a lot less tightly run. That's what happens when you have a rookie QB ... sometimes he does well, but often he's going to push too hard when the game's on the line - and a lot more 'random accidents' happen. I think we could have won that game easily; but i'm not too worried we didn't. We're a lousy team this year, and I accept that; if we go 4-12 I probably won't mind too much. I want to see Orton improve, or not; so we know if we need to use that #3 pick in the draft on a QB or someone else.

I also want to see if Benson is worth it, or if Jones is the better back...

      • Could someone explain to me how exactly the Detroit Lions managed to score five touchdowns against the Ravens?

              • I'm serious, Guy ... the Ravens were called for more penalties than the Raiders. Um, wait, they were off ... well, you know all those penalties the Officials save to call on the Raiders every week? They called them on the Ravens this week, PLUS the ravens normal penalties ...

                • Hmmm... that makes two games that the Lions won in large part due to opponents' penalties...

But, hey, 2-2 is good enough for first place in the NFC North.

Guy, we may have won two games on penalties, but we lost a game on a bad call. So I guess it evens out.

You shoulda seen the game today though, the Ravens imploded. Hella good fun.

                      • Brought down to Earth at last!

Probably a timely reality check, although it seems more like Cincy threw it away with stupid penalties than Jacksonville actually won...

The true test is how the team bounces back after this.

                            • Coach Martz is taking a leave of absence:

(Oct. 10, 2005) -- Head coach Mike Martz advised us today that after he met with his consulting physician, his physical condition has worsened and he will be readmitted to the hospital later this afternoon. As a result of his condition, he will be unable to perform his head coaching responsibilities for an indefinite period of time.

After consulting with Mike, we have all agreed that assistant head coach Joe Vitt will be the interim head coach of the Rams during Mike's absence.

He's rubbish as a coach, but let's hope he'll be alright.

If Donegal is the Commie Knocker, the Bears have to win 7 or more for him to win the bet. If they win only 6, or less, I win.
