Dogpile is a better search engine than both, except for images."In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

I like Altavista even moreI will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I still prefer google, but I've really taken a shine to my own search script, which allows me to preface a search string with a keyword, which then selects from multiple different search engines.
Like, g %string% searches google, gi %string% goes to google images, a9 %string% goes to a9.com, i %string% searches imdb.com... and so on.B♭3

Yahoo isn't a search engine. It's an index of sites, which are all personally reviewed before inclusion. And with a $300 application fee, a lot of frivalous junk doesn't get included.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Google and Yahoo do influence each other and have a working relationship. Your location in one will affect your location in the other. Almost everyone uses google rankings though, except for companies like infoseek and other pay for inclusion sites.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I like yahoo a little better... for some reason, I just like the way the page is laid out and stuff. I generally get the same kinds of results for whatever I search for so I don't see a big difference between the two.
For images, I think yahoo is slightly better. I usually get more stuff from yahoo than google. Although, I routinely search both when I'm trying to find images that are hard to find (obscure stuff).
Yahoo's main page is also better, IMO. I don't know about google, but in yahoo you can customize news, weather, sports and stuff. With google, you just get some bland search box.
Google is a good search engine and so is yahoo. But I don't see how any one of them is VASTLY SUPERIOR to the other one.
Neither of them suck.
People who say one is vastly superior to the other are stupid. People who say one completely sucks are also stupid. To us, it is the BEAST.
