Poland is not historically part of the Russian Empire, and was only occupied for 120 years. Try again.

            More than 120, I'd argue.

Its not an issue of time, period.

In 1914 most of Poland was part of the Russian empire, and there was no question as to the "legitimacy" of that, except amongst Polish nationalists.

Ditto for Tibet. Its part of China, every diplomatic document out there signed and recognized as valid says so.

                Its that freaking simple.

Yes, Tibetans have nationalist claims, and if they carry out a nationalist revolution and win independence, good for them. Ain;t going to bloody happen, but the only ones who get a say on the future status of Tibet are the Tibetans AND the Chinese.

The only difference between Korea, Vietnam and Tibet is that Korea and Vietnam could resist.

China has always swallowed and assimiliated its little neighbours, Vietnam and Korea could resist, Korea with great loss of territory, Vietnam was a province for 1000 years, Mongolia lost inner Mongolia too.

                  Tibet couldnt.

Now in inner Mongolia and Tibet most of the population is chinese.

It is so sad to see a commie supporting colonialism and the destruction of cultures.

I've argued before that I think roughly 150 years is about the dividing line, since that's about the point you get to people who are alive today not knowing the people who were alive then.

Of course, you ignore that Russia recognized the independence of Poland in 1918, whereas China never recongized the indepedence of its parts. You also ignore that the majority of the population of Poland isn't Russian, and that the people claiming to speak for Polish sovreignty aren't the former kings and nobles of Poland.

                      From Wiki,

                      Tibet

The Government of Tibet in Exile gives the number of non-Tibetans in Tibet as 7.5 million (as opposed to 6 million Tibetans), and considers this the result of an active policy of demographically swamping the Tibetan people and further diminishing any chances of Tibetan political independence, and as such, to be in violation of the Geneva Convention of 1946 that prohibits settlement by occupying powers. The Government of Tibet in Exile questions all statistics given by the PRC government, since they do not include members of the People's Liberation Army garrisoned in Tibet, or the large floating population of unregistered migrants.

                      Inner Mongolia

Han Chinese are the largest ethnic group, followed by the Mongols, with the Mongols concentrated mainly on the grasslands and the Han along the river valleys. The Han Chinese arrived during the 19th and 20th centuries in successive waves of migration and live mainly along the Yellow River as well as various population centres in central and eastern Inner Mongolia, while the Mongols, who are the original inhabitants, are now a minority comprising less than 20% of the population. Many of the traditionally nomadic Mongols have settled in permanent homes as their pastoral economy was collectivized during the Maoist Era.

I'm recongizing facts, not supporting anything. I'm extremely suspicious of the people claiming to speak for Tibet, since they are either: the former landlords and slave masters of Tibet, hippie Buddists who just think the Dalai Lama is so cool, and anti-Communists.

I neither support nor oppose the Chinese occupation of Tibet. I think opposing it would be a colossal waste of time, since China isn't going to listen to me, or even the rest of the world, on this issue. I don't support it because it's clear to me it's an occupied colony.

I don't know what the peasants and workers of Tibet say. Maybe they want their former owners to return and take all the land back and re-enslave them. Somehow I doubt it.

Since the world recognizes Tibet as an intragral part of China, and not an occupied country, the Geneva Convention does not apply. The government of Tibet was never recognized by the rest of the world.

A lot of the world cheered Ronnie, and earlier presidents, on as the war against leftists was waged between Cairo and Bogata.

That makes it right, according to you, che.
