Is This Woman Racist?

This just in from a friend who took the girl out to lunch (they have business relationship) ::

Hey - we had an enormous black waiter the other day who looked like shaq, and when he poured her more iced tea, she said loudly, in appreciation, "SHAZAM!"

Is that the name of a Shaq movie? I seem to remember something along those lines - in that case it'd be more acceptable I suppose.

Another question - would anyone dump a girl if she said "I'd rather 10 white people than 10 black people in my apartment"? That seems OK to me.

As far as black literature, her response seems to be "How many black authors have won the nobel prize"? I know of only one offhand so I'd throw that question to you guys as well.

I'd try to avoid ever talking to her again, never mind dating her.

Sounds like a typical, ignorant person. All she knows is what she's learned from watching TV. So I think she's just a media programmed idiot. From what you have described, it's not hateful, purposeful racism that you find in the race purists.

Since you like her, stop spazzing out. It's easy to turn around an ignorant. Just take the uneducated down where people are at, so that they can interact with what they are ignorant about.

BTW, why are you so obsessing about this? I think this is more indicative of your issues, rather then hers. Perhaps you shouldn't peer into that mirror of yourself until you are ready for serious truff about all humans.

This is not in itself racist, really. If you asked a black person the question, I'm sure they would most likely choose 10 black people; we tend to associate with what we are most familiar, and therefore comfortable with.
