    I hate my body

I have been overweight since I was 7 or 8 (when my sister died.. I stopped going outside to play as much arround then and started staying inside and reading)

I was 140 and 5'6 when I was in 8th.. by the end of highschool I was 5'10 (5'11 in the morning) and 180, not very muscular though

    throughout college I was 185+\-10

in gradschool I initially worked out and got down to 170 (in Dec '02), then gradually got up to 190 in fall of '03... when I had blood pressure issues (and went on daily medication, which increases my nauseau when I drink)

soon after that (by early spring) I had skyrocketed to 220.. since then I have fought my way down, at times as far as 193, and then stopped exercising much for a month or so and then go back up...

today I measured myself at 210

Drink less, eat less, exercise more.

I am afraid it looks like a lifelong battle for you, Jon.

Hey. I don´t like hearing people getting depressed about weight. When I was 15 yo I reached 231 pounds. Now I am almost 23 yo and 145.

If you want to change your life you can do it.
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I know that there are people who have been worse.. and succeeded...

I am just feeling down about it, because I have tried for a while

No one is saying that is going to be easy, but if changing yourself is what you really want, then you should be more determinated.

And please, don´t listen to those patting your shoulder saying "aww you look good, it doesn´t matter how you look outside, but what you have inside yourself".
Do you think people give a damn about you liking poetry from Rilke, or russian literature, or greek sculpture? (I do!) They don´t give a damn. They can just see a fatass, yet they still smile and wave at you

Every meal should be a combination of lean protein (30-40g), low-GI carbs (around 70g) and good fats (10g).

Except immediately following a good workout. Then you should take a high-GI drink with whey protein (if your intention is to develop muscle).

If you want to be a skinny 50kg weakling, stick to carbs and carbs only. Eat only fruit, carbs and pasta. Become vegetarian if you want.

Low-GI is carbs high in fibre that take a while to digest..brown rice, wholemeal pasta, oats..

High-GI are easy to diguest carbs like white bread, white pasta, and sugary stuff.

None of which make for a good drink, so what is a high GI drink?

Basal Insulins are the background insulins needed to supply cells with glucose while preventing the release of excess glucose from the liver.

Glycemic Index. It basically means the amount of sugar in the drink.

Does eating something rich in protein about an hour after workout have the same effect? Obviously not, but how big is the loss? Can I get a similar effect with eating sugary after workout to even out the immediate sugar loss and get the protein later on or, say, over time?

It's best to have the whey and dextrose immediately following your workou. An hour or so later, have something like chicken, wholemeal pasta and broccoli.
