Proof of prejudice towards Arkansas in the media

I have lived in Arkansas for most of my life and I don't feel the need to defend it to anyone. It is what is. Besides since we got electricity three years ago I feel things are improving a lot.

I shall say, I try not to prejudge places anymore (well aside from smart ass Poly comments). Just spent a week in Southeast Mississippi and loved it, after thinking it'd be the pits.

If one does away with preconceived ideas, most places aren't that bad.

Nice try. But SlowwHand is in East Texas. It has trees.

I'm in North Texas, but was born in Abilene, which is considered West Texas.
We do have trees in Dallas though.

I know Sloww is from East Texas, but I'm just saying West Texas is always spoken negatively. Even by East or North Texans.

West Texas is harsh land, with good hearted people. They'd do anything for you. If you appreciate beautiful sunsets and sunrises, a night sky full of stars, there's West Texas. A LOT of sky.

And looking at the NBADL, there ain't alot of glamorous locations: Albuquerque, Arkansas, Austin, Fayetteville (sweet!), Florida (Naples), Fort Worth, Roanoke and Tulsa.

What's wrong with Austin or Fort Worth? Clearly you've been to neither city, as both are top 20 cities in the US in terms of population, have quite a bit of diversity (Austin especially), and both are home to first class universities (UT in Austin, TCU in Fort Worth). I've actually been to Fayettville, and completely agree that's a backwater. I've never been to Tulsa or Albuquerque, but I don't typically associate those cities with "spots to avoid".
