Couldn't see McGuinn's solo from 'Eight Miles High', couldn't see many, many blues guitarists- and Fripp gets in for a King Crimson piece, not his solo work or work with Eno or Sylvian. Figures.
Gah- the list seems to be drawn up by people who've hardly heard any jazz or traditional blues or anything remotely experimental, and with just a polite dusting of folk-rock to let in Neil Young.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.

One of the greatest guitar players I have ever seen is a guy name Mike MacDonald at Grossman's Tavern in Toronto. He's one of these guys who will never be famours, but man can he play.
He does a great version of Cotton Fields that start of slow with just vocals:
When I was a little bitty baby
My momma woudl rock me in my cradle
In those old cotton fields back home
It was down in Louisiana,
Just about a mile from Texarkana,
In them old cotton fields back home.
Oh, when them cotton bolls get rotten
You can’t pick very much cotton,
In them old cotton fields back home.
It was down in louisiana,
Just about a mile from texarkana,
In them old cotton fields back home.
One-two-three-four
And then he starts wailing on the guitar so fast that his fingers are burning. Man, it's incredibleGolfing since 67

And glad to see Slash get some love. One of the best guitarist of the 80s finally getting some love.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
