How does that explain why the Eagles couldn't score more than 10 points?

10 points would have been enough with Trotter in the game..

          • Most disturbing things about Eagles loss

Their WRs Brown and Lewis were shutdown by a guy who can’t cover his way out of a wet paper bag (Rossum) and a guy who couldn’t make it as a cornerback for the 49ers (Webster). Solid start to the season guys.

Not that the players are all to blame. The abysmal clock management of Andy Reid in the fourth quarter only goes to show how little he learned from the Super Bowl. With 4:38 left in regulation, down by four points, having only one timeout thanks to poor preparation, and an injured quarterback, you DO NOT have time to be running draws following a huddle. Also, where was the challenge on the Crumpler catch over the middle in the third quarter? Sure the Falcons ran the play fast, but not fast enough for television viewers to not got two different looks at the catch. That’s plenty of time to reach around your stomach and into your pocket to get a flag, coach. Maybe I’m being harsh, but I am feeling as nauseous as I did last February and its only Week One.

            • Interesting first week.

Bears QB Kyle Orton's Passer Rating is just about the same as Michael Vick's, Brett Favre's, Jake Plummer's, and Daunte Culpepper's.

              Vick: 55.7
              Favre: 53.5
              Orton: 52.8
              Jake Plummer: 51.6
              Culpepper: 49.2

BTW, I heard an interesting stat about the Bears' loss. They held the Redskins to 9 points right? Well in the history of the NFL, teams that have held their opponents to 9 points or less are 127-5 in regular season games. I don't know if that is including the Bears loss on Sunday or not though.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Time to realize that it's just a game. I got real pissed last year when the Rams got their ass kicked, and I started to get that way this week, but I've learned my lesson.

                • Falcons

Way to shut down the Eagles' offense. The Falcons would have won even with Trotter in the lineup. They were against Trotter in the cold in January and scored 10 points. At home field, with shutting down the Eagles Offense, they would have still scored 2 TDs. Or at least 1 TD and 2 FGs.

The real loss to the Philly defense was Corey Simon.

Simon is overrated. He had a very average year last year..

Trotter is huge against the run. He's the type of player that makes everyone take it up a notch when he's out there..

For Atlanta, this was their Super Bowl. They baited Trotter into a confrontation with a scrub, knowing that because the commisioner was there they would get ejected, so as to give themselves the edge they needed to win..

Uh huh... keep making excuses. If you wanted to win, you may have wanted to score more than 10 points.

You should be blaiming Trotter if you really think they lost because he didn't play.

                          • You can only play the games on your schedule, and the personnel on the field. This is all "what if" posturing. A moot point. They played, Falcons won. End of discussion.

What's bizarre is that the Falcons nickelback that started the fight returned to practice this week and promptly got hurt, out for the year.

The Bears play a home game against Detroit. If they lose this one and start off 0 - 2, it will be a longer season than most Bears fans anticipated...
