  • Sorry to butt in when it isn't even my turn, but Mornington Crescent.

    Woot!

Er, as far as a new game goes, I think the Maharajah's Rule Set would be in order (1853 edition, for those of you familiar with Bombay's rich printing history). No North-South divide, no quadruple striles allowed, and no chance whatsoever of moving to MC from within zone 4.

It's a good place to be.

        • Hmm. That was a Orthodox opening.

          So lets make it Unorthodox.

A little trip across the platform, to Heathrow Tube Terminus 1C. Now we have some choices...

          • That was merely archaic Western Orthodox. Unorthodox would be something like Temple.

            • Ah, a Southern strategy I see. Well, we need to put an end to that one with High Barnet.

                • I laugh at all of you playing Chiswick Park in accordance with the 1917-published combined textbook How to cook Kraut and Mornington Cresent for front soldiers.

                      • Oh, hell, lets go for broke.

Madaren used to use this as an example, IIRC.

                          • Time to nip the Kraut in the bud. Consulting the "World Wide Encyclopedia on Mornington Crescent and Blood Sausages", the best move to counter the threat is Park Royal

                            • I will leave this game to get some night sleep anyway.

As a matter of fact, your encyclopedia (too bad you need to use one, got not wit on your own?) leaves out the slim chance that the offender play London Bridge, thus pushing him forward to just so short before victory.

                              • Oh, but that book is severely outdated. The best move under present conditions, given a prevailing wind, is to Gloucester Road.
