there is a real strong feeling right now, among people who care, that the US government (And the leaders of it, like Bush) have failed New Orleans..
this even from mostly unpolitical people....

my sister's boyfreind is part of a blackhawk group (the rescue/medic type ones)
most/all of the other groups are in iraq or afgahnastan
his is here, but hasn't been sent (yet) because all the helis are appart of maintence (I think only a couple are flyable)
my sister thinks that if the other groups were in the US, there would be a lot more helping out in New Orleans

How was the city of new orleans supposed to evacuate over 100,000 in less than 24 hours?
