I can eleborate on that big sonofa***** rookie WR that drafted this year.

I read somewhere that the NBA has is already laying out new team schedules with no games in New Orleans until 2006 - which is probably optimistic.

From what I understand of that Civ game of yours, it's all about launching one's own spaceship before the others do. So this is no big news after all: my father just beat you all to the stars once more. - Philippe Baise

The owner is finally realizing that Jacksonville is too small a market to have a franchise. It's a million people including suburbs and sattilite cities. The city gets the games blacked out on a regular basis, since they just don't have the base to get enough people buying tickets. Jacksonville has the smallest market of any franchise except Green Bay.
The slap in the face to Jacksonville is that they just finished redeveloping Altel Stadium at great coast to the local citizens.

The market is large enough to support the team, they just built the stadium too big. Doesn't it seat 75,000+? That easily makes it the largest stadium in the NFL. With a stadium that large, it's hard to sell out the game. Non sell-out games get blacked out. All they'd have to do is cut the number of seats... build more luxury boxes or something. Jacksonville is a pretty good young franchise, and it would be a shame for them to move.

Ah, the voice of the non-taxpayer. We have people to take care of, kids to educate. Sports teams provide jobs, but not enough to be worthy of $400 billion dollar bond issues.
Corporation forks over some millions to another corporation for naming rights? Big effing deal.
Get over it.

They should just play in Baton Rouge. Tiger Stadium is quite nice.
LSU has called them off and said no they figured they would try to help with the refugees and stuff. then worry bout football

Being dyslexic is hard work. I don't even try anymore.
The Saints have said that playing in Tiger Stadium was their first option. If that is a no-go officially, their second option would be playing their home games in San Antonio. I do not see what possible impediments there could be for that? After their "home opener" in New Jersey, they do not have another home game officially until October 2. Should be ample time to figure it out.

Tiger Stadium, last I heard, was still having its own problems just being 100% ready for the LSU games. Still, if it's ready enough to handle LSU, it can handle the Saints. Not sure about the wisdom of having them both there the same weekend, though.
