I don't know...this actually kinna makes sense to my brain, and here's why:

    * A bedrock, scientific fact isn't a fact unless it's true all the time.

    * Natural Selection CANNOT be scientific fact, because Bush is ALIVE. That he exists at all, flies in the face of natural selection.

    * Since Bush's existence cannot be explained by natural selection, we must look elsewhere.

Thus, perhaps Intelligent Design isn't the BEST place to look, it is a start (tho as has been pointed out, if it explains Shrub's existence, then it very definitely needs a new name!)

Nonetheless, our sitting President is a MOST excellent poster child for their cause.

I'll take a crack at it. Those who have to most to lose, ie. the very wealthy, have a long history of supporting fundamentalist and mystical religious views and organizations. Much of the funding for the dramatic growth among fundamentalist organizations in the US has come from America's super rich.

It's in their interest to have a population that can't reason scientifically about the big picture. Spreading religous nonsense about creationism, etc. fills the bill. It helps sustain the misconception that the social and economic order are ordained by God, not the result of economic forces that are directed by wealthy elites for their own benefit. Can anyone provide a link to a site that disproves stork theory?

Hahaha....thought not! It must be true then!

an interesting theory for sure. But what about lightning striking him in the desert. You must admit it is possible!

I don't think that you have followed this line of thought to the end. Bush Jr. may be a proof of ID, but that only explains his existence - you totally have forgotten that he twice has been elected as president. That to happen should be considered as a proof against Intelligent "design" because then he shouldn't have had a chance of getting elected - on the other side, it could be taken as a proof that more than half of US citizens are possible winners of a darwin award.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I must admit that no human has ever figured out why god do what he does, so you have a point - though, he seems to do what humans find is right

PS. He apparently doesn't seem to worry about what humans calls him

PPS : are we sure it's a him ? sometimes I think god acts as a furious woman wich is a wery scary thing
