Oh okay.

Some receivers aren't necessarily fast, they just have really good hands and can take alot of punishment. Or they can cut and/or accelerate really quick. I've seen guys who can accelerate really quick but their top speed isn't that good. I've also seen guys where they only go up the middle and usually get beat up every time they catch the ball. But they never drop the ball.

I think every team has 2 speed guys where all they do is beat the other guys up the field.

Then there are guys like you who throw blocks or go up the middle or run the post and flank out toward the sidelines when they catch.

Now that I think of it, I might have sucked as a reciever. I'm not the 'run and loose the company' type of guy. I'm more likei the 'gonna get you!' type of guy. I'm nto sure what you guy call the dudes who, in the defense, get the guys, usually going sideways fast and going *SMASH*. Not the biggest guys in the defense though. Maybe I would have been good at that. JUst hitting people. That's it. Peeeeriod.

You would have liked to play linebacker. You can be small-ish (220 - 240 pounds) and still be an excellent linebacker.

That's usually the strong safety or the free safety that does that.

Bascially what you're doing is scouting the backfield for whoever comes through the line, usually a receiver or a running back, and then *POW* driving them down or out of bounds.

Right, I had been definitely a small linebacker. Or maybe go and bulk up, get some belly going on but remain fast and mean.

Then again, comparing to any level in the US, I would have prolly just sucked and not get to play any games ..

Anyway let's talk about this dude more. I thought he was the one who was supposed to sign with some NFL team this year, but it didn't happen yet. THis guy is someone different. So he got a scholarship for some program. Is this program any good?

Nebraska has had some tough times lately. But it is one of a small handful of schools with long winning football traditions (Nebraska, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, USC, etc.). The team is a huge deal in the States.

Dude, we played in the national title game as recently as 2001. We've had a couple down years, but we're not in as tough of times as Notre Dame...

I hope he could make it.. then the sport woudl get more cover in here too, now it really doesn't at all, excluding superbowl. I'd love if someone picked up NFL.. even cable.. cause I got that stuff cable that is.

THe program is the top college tier program, it's considered the best of the best colleges.

Tough to know. Playing at Nebraska is good in its own right. It's a bigger deal than playing on many NFL teams.

He might have a shot at the NFL. His development was hampered a bit because he played his first two years as a defensive lineman, but he's a smart kid and is probably the best player on the O-line right now. He's no Brendan Stai, but he might go in the later rounds.
