The President is the enemy. No ground should be surrendered without making him pay a cost. If he has to fight for the easy things, it makes it that much harder for him to force his reactionary agenda down the country's throat.

The country is exceedingly partisan now. Things have been headed this way since '94.

Nor is it a stupid way to look at things. If you fear the President's agenda, and all intelligent people do, then you do everything in your power to slow or stop it.
