A blog is anything that has entries with a timestamp and an RSS/Atom newsfeed. Slashdot is a blog, for instance.

A good French blog is http://maitre.eolas.free.fr It's about the life of a lawyer. Lots of interesting things about French laws, a few affairs (f.e. Guillermito, who wrote stuff before the word blog was even known).
He keeps many things technical, and there's a forum to answer or ask questions, but that's mostly Eolas talking. His blog would probably be more useful to those who want to hearn Fench law than most university courses.
