  • israeli kills 4 arabs on bus

    damn.

An israeli, apparently AWOL from the army, has shot for Israeli arabs on a bus in Northern Israel, in an apparent act of terror. Apparently he was affiliated with Kach, an extremist group founded by the late "rabbi" Meir Kahane.

I repudiate all such acts. This is not about politics. There is no justification for this. This is terrorism, the DELIBERATE destruction of innocent human life. It is a stain upon Judaism. I have no patience for anyone who supports this.

It's their way to oppose Gaza pullout. Now everybody see that some of the settlers are mindless fanatic scum. He had no better way to make Israeli people support Sharon's plan.

'Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called the incident a reprehensible act by a "bloodthirsty terrorist".

"This terror incident is a deliberate attempt to harm the relations between the citizens of Israel," he said through his office.

"Terror between civilians is the most dangerous thing for the future of Israel and its democratic stability'

                Already done, sorta...

Israel soldier lynched after killing four in Gaza pullout row

A teenage Israeli soldier shot dead four people in a blazing row over the country's imminent withdrawal from Gaza before being lynched by furious residents of an Arab-Israeli town.

The shooting, the first deadly incident connected to Israel's controversial plan to uproot all troops and settlers from Gaza and parts of the northern West Bank, heightened fears about possible violence during the historic pullout.

The 19-year-old religiously observant Jew, dressed in army fatigues, unleashed a volley of fire inside a bus in the northern Galilee town of Shfaram in an argument over the pullout, police said.

Four Israeli Arab passengers died in the hail of bullets. The gunman was lynched by a furious crowd as hundreds flocked to the blood-smeared bus in a Druze neighbourhood of Shfaram shortly after the attack, police and witnesses said.

Among the victims were two students, the driver of bus 165, which served the route between Shfaram and the main northern city of Haifa, and a local Shfaram resident. Four other passengers were also injured, two of them seriously, public television said.

                  What a dumbass.

Although you can get some positive information from this incident. It most probably was an act of a single person, not an organization.

Any right wing terrorist organization knows that it has an extemely limited number of actions it can execute before being caught by the GSS. Such an organization, wanting to stop the disengagement, also knows that their attack will have to be large and spectacular. Organizing a mere shooting attack is neither large nor spectacular, as we all know from bitter experience with the Palestinians.

Right. Hid did not choose a proper way to fight pullout.

                        --

This lynching and the gathering of a mob who tried to stop the police is very worrying. As I understand it, the terrorist stopped shooting and policemen were trying to protect him from the mob but he was lynched anyway. If he really wasnt killed during the shooting or before the police arrived(which is a completely justifiable self defense)... that's bad.

Settlers say, that they will shot to oppose pullout. Settlers say "Jews do not shot Jews". So what if settlers warn Sharon that they are about to start organized attacks on arab settlements in Gaza?

I think the battle between the government and settlers is going to have the possibility to tear the country apart (at least morally). And then the oppertunist Arab terrorist groups will try to seize on that. It has the potential to be very scary.
