    $125,000 can't buy an outhouse here. USD125,000 can just barely do that.

      What can I say? If someone just instantly gets money through no work of their own, they should at least give a little of it...
      Camden, NJ? Most people try to move out of there.. $125k gives you enough to do that. Why would you stay/go there?

      What charity would you give to?

        Ah yes, day trading. I was waiting for someone to say that. "6-10% very conservatively" sounds to me like excellent returnswith low risk. Why are nads required? Is there some other risk you havent mentioned?

          I'd shove it all in a bank account and use it to fund my studies. That ought to get me through uni, what with all the extra costs that have been added.

                            Go to private undergraduate and graduate schools (law school, medical school) on loans.

                            =====================================

                            BTW: Here's a happy student loan story.

                            Once upon a time, a friend of mine went to law school. He got student loans but didn't live on them. Rather he invested ithem n the stock market and did very well. When he graduate from law school, he took the money and used it for a down payment in the cruddy little community of Sunland.

                            Years passed as he worked at his underpaid government job.

                            Then, at the bottom of the real estate market back in the early 90's, he sold his Sunland house and used the proceeds to buy a fixer-upper in the ritzy communitiy of La Canada. (He also got a loan from his in-laws to fix it up ) Then the RE market went BOOM! He now has almost $1,000,000 in equity in his house.

                            And me?? I'm still renting.

                                my consideration is that the loan money goes to pay my rent

                                my made money goes to pay my alcohol

                                so there is nothing wrong, right?
