Well, I guess that they will be more agile in that situation than in the dispute about the danish island Hans Ø

As an oil exporter, Canada stands to do well economically and as someone that works in the industry, I can tell you that predictions of "running out" in my lifetime are absurd. Heck we are just STARTING to explore many of the basins with deeper water depths.
Who told you the Peak Oil was a theory that oil was going to run out? It's just going to get more expensive - a lot more expensive. All of the alternatives will be expensive too.

I think that you have something wrong- oil may get more expensive, but that will only help alternatives - they keep on becoming less expensive. Some day people will consider oil as a nuicanse if they find it in their neighbourhood.

That may be true in the future, but at the time that world oil production peaks all of the viable alternatives to oil will be just as expensive as oil.

And this is why I call it a loony conspiracy theory. So when is all the old in the world going to peak production? Is this the same as when oil was supposed to run out in 50 years... 50 years ago?

When prices go up, just imgine the enourmous reduction in gas comsumption that will happen when american cars goes from 8 to 20 km/l.

It's not a conspiracy theory at all. It has nothing to do with people conspiring. Experts predict that production could peak this year or possibly up to 10 years from now.

I don't imagine this to make a big difference. I imagine that you will still see a lot of SUVs on the road thoughout the crisis.

Supply and demand can't magically create oil, it can only expedite its depletion.
