They did the same here in The Netherlands, in a small town called Putten. They rounded up every boy and man. Only a handfull came back after the war.

Lancer, think about it. Suppose one of Dolores' family went astray and joined a Phillipine "resistance" movement. You think a "humane approach" is justified?

There´s always a solution to dealing with terrorists. Round up every one who had any dealings with them whatsoever and have them shot. But the problem with this is that it´s fascism and doesn´t belong in democratic states...

I dunno, they were probably just ordinary Wehrmacht guys. Couldn't have been the regular Dutch police, they were too busy rounding up Jews for the Germans.

You are right about that. When I grew up during the 50's and 60's we were taught that my country valiantly stood up against the Nazi's. We were all heroes. In the tv series Big Brother there is a scene where you see, after the liberation of Eindhoven how everyone is chasing the so called "moffenhoeren" (Kraut whores) who's only crime was that they fell in love with a German soldier. We were all resistance fighters after the war ended...

Fact is, we just adapted, live has to go on you know, and the fact that relatively seen we lost more of our
Jewish population than any other occupied country (including Poland!) was not common knowledge. Ha!, we were the people that hid Anne Frank, weren't we.

We were a lot of cowards and collaborators during the occupation, and heroes after the liberation.

Sorry for the rant and the thread-jack, but this is something I feel very strong about.

Not really. We have WW2 covered I guess, but there is still the Indonesion Independance War (still called Police Actions over here) and Srebenica to deal with.

Well, we have made peace with our Algerian past only a handful of years ago (it's now considered a war, and the torture we inflicted is now officially acknowledged). It might not take too long before you come to terms with the Indonesian independance too.

The Quran condemns suicide. It's pretty clear they don't care about the edicts of the religion they claim to fight for.
