Actually, in the fantastic Korean movie Old Boy, someone gets killed by being stabbed to death by CD shards.
Sorry bout the threajack here but Old Boy...whoa now theres one sick movie. I cant understand why people say its "fantastic" "great"etc. Its horrible...with one good fighting scene. I dont understand why such sick films are made, let a lone watched by people.

The fighting isn't why you watch the movie. I liked it because it gave you a twisted set of premises, and then let you run along with the whole movie, until the end, when it gives you an additional set of premises, broadsiding you entirely.
I can see how people would take offense at some of the situations brought up, but if that's your only reason for disliking a movie, understand that not everyone else has that same viewpoint.

I didnt know much anything about the movie before I went to see it in the theatre with my friends. Seeing it made me almost throw up i.e physically feel sick. It really disturbed me and made me angry, now I've just tried to forget it. OK lets face it as far as the cinematography and "innovative" plot twits go its really good but at the end its just another one of those "the most sick asian movie ever made". The cultural taboos shock value was prety much a yawn for me but it lft me wonder why thse kinds of movies are made. Its really evil and sick movie, what kind of effect do the makers of it want it to have on its audience. Do they want to **** up peoples minds ever more than our society would anyhow? What if someone sometimes flips out after seeing of of these flicks? Human mind is so fragile, mind you. Why do normal people want to see these things? What does it say about us?
I mean I like asian horror Into the Mirroretc but I'm getting sick of these no-good, plain evil movies. People get ideas from these you now..
I want the OS to use as little resources as possible - it seems that OSes are resource hogs and sometimes, the mind boggles.
No, I addressed that when I mentioned how ridiculous it was that he have all of the above mentioned features, then ask for it to use as little resources as possible.
What, specifically, is there to address about it?
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "
Address it, even though you don't know what to address, you EVADER!
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.â€

A different, interesting take on the desktop metaphor is SymphonyOS.
I'm not sure how different that is, it looks like ObjectDesktop mixed with NeXTStep?

I like the four corners, that is a good idea.
I was playing Swat4 yesterday, and I really liked how I could control the other team members just by right clicking (which would open a menu).
Wouldn't it be great if that was your way of accessing anything in Windows? Just right click anywhere, open whatever you want. Who needs menu's on the interface when it can be kept hidden under one mouse button?
So, will it be able to finally remember your folder settings?
Now that would be an achievement.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus
I don't like it. I think its more convenient when things are kept as close together as possible. In fact, it probably violates a UI principle.

Yes, an interface where everything is one or two mouse clicks away. That would be awesome. Some system utilities, like the defrag utility, are hidden too deep in the start menu. It should be way more easily accessible.

Right click anywhere, doesn't matter where, the top bar shows you the user, the 2nd bar shows you were you are (where you right clicked), the rest link you to any directory, network or program in your computer.
Down the bottom, I replaced the long bar's from windows into small round buttons with icons that we can all recognise, this saves a lot of space down the bottom. If it has more than one window it is grouped, to get access to the group just click on the button and the menu opens.
Moved trash can to statusbar; why have it on the desktop, covering up your nice background?
