  • Who uses Microsoft Antispyware?

I used it for a couple month. It updates itself and it scans my computer each night. But it never found anything. Is the damn thing working?

That's one of the things about network security. When it works, nothing bad happens, and people wonder.

You can check by running HijackThis

Don't use it as your only anti-spyware program.

I use it as part of the trio, with the other two being Spybot and Ad-Aware.

I use noadaware, spybot, and Microsoft. Rarely have anything.
Also use Registry Mechanic, and for the life of me, can't understand how anyone doesn't use it, or something. That's where I get hits.

        Oh yeah, CyberScrub too

Why do people say that, Sloww?

                Random invocations of bestiality...

I do the same. But Microsoft antispyware never finds anything. Otoh, Spybot and Ad-aware find something once in a while. Must be Firefox

I use Opera. IE blows chunks.

                      Oops.

That's a worrying move, though really nothing unusual for the Redmond Beast.

As Q^3 said, multiple slimeware scanners is the only way to go.

I use adaware most of the time, this has the best chance of finding anything that shouldn't be there
With Spybot I have never found anything... ok, that's not true, it did find something but it never managed to remove it (after next reboot it's back). After doing this several times I gave up
Microsofts anti-spyware is the last option, but it still manages to find spyware that adaware couldn't find

I've given up on spybot now
But so far the best anti-spyware app I have is Firefox, not much gets in
This space is empty... or is it?

I haven't had any virus scanner or antispyware software on my computer in ages and my computer's just fine. The best defense against viruses and spyware is not being a moron.
