With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

That might be true, but what should Blair etc have done with this knowledge besides prepare police and rescue ?

      Nothing.

They did lower the state of alert just a couple weeks ago.
If they knew of a risk and then surely the idea, is to raise the level again, no?

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

            Like anywhere they are.

            Like Saudi.

            Like anywhere they live.

            Like anywhere they get financing.

            Clear now?

Why not ? Common Iraqui people doesn't give in for the terrorists, they still join the police and military and build up a normal life.

...but you're not very clear on the reality on the ground in Iraq. The "insurgency" isn't in its "last throes" inspite of the rosy picture Cheney keeps trying to paint. Military commanders IN Iraq have said as much. Even Rummy said the end is a long way off. Iraq has become a hotbed of terrorists, when before our response (To what, pray tell...) it was not.

                    You're welcome.

Ahhh, don't mind him, Black Cat....he's just worried that if we really start to go after the terrorists in the ME, he'll lose a large number of potential communist converts....and you have to admit that they'd be perfect candidates.

They already hate the capitalized west.

They've already demonstrated that they're easily duped by fanatical ideologues whose teachings have no basis in day-to-day life and living...perfect!

                          Interesting point.

I say lets go after them where they live and get funding.

                          I mention Saudi by name.

                          And you...bring up Iraq?

Hate to break the news to you a year or so too late, but I already expressed outrage at the misinformation campaign waged by the present administration about the situation in Iraq.

I don't agree with our being there (tho I used to, cos hey...I was taken in by the lines of BS like a lot of other people were, and I don't mind admitting it).

But since we are there, yeah, I think we ought to stay at least long enough to give the current government time to find its legs, and then scoot!

All that to say, I'm not sure what you're driving at, but you can certainly feel free to look at the posts I've made in this thread and quote me saying anything about Iraq.

I'll just wait right here to see that...'k?
