And besides which, I have never forgiven the grenouilles their crime against coffee- I like the example of the Prussian commander who asked the coffee supplier of the French town they had occupied to bring him all his supplies of chicory. When he had done so, the commander ordered it all burnt, and then had some delicious unadulterated coffee.

Have you tried saffron bread, Spiff ?

      Or Dover sole ?

How about an Arbroath smokie, or a Bakewell tart ?

How about scallops with samphire salad, or sea bass with sorrel sauce ?

      Oxtail stew with barley ?

Damson jam, quince preserve with Cheshire cheese and Ormeau Road farls ?

I do hope this isn't going to turn into another tedious thread where people demonstrate their wholesale ignorance of British food.

            Welcome to 3rd grade...

You seem to have a bad habit of making an argument personal. And your implication that I'm ugly is clearly a personal insult.

I wait for our mods to take action.

The HYW would have never lasted so long if not for the treacherous Burgundians, who betrayed our beautiful continet in favour of the Rosbifs

Fortunately, they ended up seeing the light, and they became loyal once again, but it sure took its time.

That is rich! A Rosbif complaining about French Coffee?!

I don't know what you Brits and Commonwealth inhabitants in general have against Chiracs disarming honesty. He didn't even say you have the worst food. Everybody knows, that finnish fried reindeer crap is even less desirable than fish and chips. Stating that in some way somebody is worse than the Brits has to be interpreted as compliment towards you.
