It looks fine by me. But we should populate the whole thing, not hide like sissy girls.

I've seen several other designs that were better than this, but it's not that bad (most other designs were much worse)
I don't like the look of the base though. When the first picture of the base was loading I thought it was some kind of error in the picture or something
This space is empty... or is it?

The thing that annoys me the most about this (or any tall building actually) is the antenna. Why is it that whenever they build a building they always add a long antenna at the top just so that they can call the building the tallest building in the world
The height of a building should be based on where the top floor is, not where the top of the antenna is
This space is empty... or is it?

              bleh.

Build a building, or a set of buildings. Make them architecturally pleasing and fitting in the area. Make them impressive. Make them functional. Simply put: make them great, and make them surpass the old WTC towers in all aspects that buildings are judged upon.

                Nothing wrong with the design.

It's not inspiring or anything, but then again, there are only a few variations to a skyscrapper.

Everyone hated the old design because it was "different," but it would have been appreciated within a decade. You would hear in some future History Channel documentary some of the quotes about how absurd, ugly, etc the building was, before they went into a paean about its particular grace and beauty. It would have been a rightful symbol of New York.

Skyscrapers are for the city, anyway, not the country as a whole. Nobody from Massachusetts speaks with great pride of Sears Tower, just as nobody from Nevada talks about the grandeur of One Liberty Place. They should just scrap all the melodrama and symbolism so they can build a skyscraper fit for the skyline of New York City -- nowhere else.

Security concerns are ludicrous. Number one, I bet even if they constructed this out of brittle glass and toothpick lattice work, no terrorist would even bother to flick it over. Number two, as pointed out above, all this does is put the Empire State or Chrysler Buildings into danger.

EDIT: Holy ground? In Lower Manhattan? Are you crazy? These are not the vast wheatfields of Iowa; they are prime real estate that should not be wasted. The best response to any terrorist attack is to make the area active again, rather than an expensive piece of mourning.

                              Yes. Holy grounds are stupid.
