With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Oooooh, yeah. I'm renting a 3-bedroom house; it's $1,500/month, and our landlady hasn't raised our rent in ten years. So we have a terrific deal!

And that is the basci point, now isn't it?

People who live there have to pay for the outrageous property prices.

Nah, still won;t do it. I would be more apt to use the rifle on a few other folks before myself, if only in a vain attempt to make those states more interesting.

It's expat rating Bosh, so it may not agree with your personal experience.

Yep. The fact that the first two cities are Japanese but that not a single Japanese city appears on the list after that makes me question how accurate it is...

they rank them according to an index (New York = 100) so businesses can quickly see how much more they need to pay their employees abroad for a comparable living standard in new york. (Geneva = 113, so it is 13% more expensive to live in geneva, so you need to pay them 13% more to keep their standard of living equal to that of new york)

No mention of Anchorage. Traditionally, that's one of American's most expensive cities.
