Clearly you felt your positioned threatened or something.
I can't resist the temptation of running logical rings around you, when you don't even see that you're being whupped.

    As if you threaten anyone.

Come on. The obvious implication of what Asher said was that they were forced to do so with "in order to do business there" being an unwritten given. Just as me saying that I'm "forced" to abide by local laws has the unspoken caveat "in order to live here." I don't think it helps your argument to consider this a point.

There is no logic in Microsoft withdrawing their blogging service from China.

The only argument you try to make is ethical, which varies from person to person.

The fact that you think you can run logical rings around me when there is no logical reason not to do what Microsoft is doing is pretty funny.

Everyone seems to think that censoring words like "freedom" and "democracy" is unethical.

          • China is unethical. Doing business there is unethical.

Maybe if we put a trade embargo on we can rule the world with our ethics. It's worked so well for Cuba.

What a bunch of BS? Everyone finds censoring words like "freedom" and "democracy" unethical.

Honestly Asher, I would like to follow along with the debate here, but you are just posting a bunch of crap.

                Obviously China seems to disagree.

The key word in that quote is "impact". If you find it unethical or not, your opinion or Microsoft's action isn't going to force China's hand into not censoring people. They're communist for christ sake, they thrive on ignorance of the population. Keep the man stupid and their jobs are safe.

No one is arguing that the best way to rule the world is to do the ethical thing.

Again. Obviously it helps China when they can enlist help for their cause, especially MS.

                    • How can it help them do something they have total, unchecked control over?

Do you think you always have to help yourself?

Typical Commie -- you want someone else to do everything for you.

If you want something done right, do it yourself.

All I said is that you don't have to do something unethical for money.

So what is the connection between not acting unethically for money and wanting someone to give you everything? Sorry if I didn't read into your implications.
