White Stripe is popular, but I'm unfamiliar.
I like Coldplay.

You would like Coldplay, I think, Hueij.
I was some surprised. I'd given up.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Another worrying trend I noticed is that producers take an old time favourite of mine and turn it into something... something... well, something something (I shot my baby down, California Dreamin') and turn it into a hit! We live in dark times...
On a happier note, all the times I went to the Lowlands festival I managed to miss all the "great" bands (White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver to name a few) and see all the "small" bands that will never be big, like Calexico.
But this year I'm definitely going to see the Pixies!
And in 1 1/2 week I'm going to see Elvis Costello! For the first time in 23 years! Life is goodWithin weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards

if coldplay is all you can recommend, then I'll stick with being old.
I'm listening to the white stripes right now. Only because I got them in my head because the other thread. One of the few new bands I like (and I only like a few of their songs).
I'll stick with 80's and 90's music I think. Just last month I was listening to one of my old bootleg audiocassettes. It was of a metal massacre album (compilation album). I haven't heard it in so long, it's like hearing new music . I really like some of that underground stuff.

Gorillaz have a new CD out. I only heard one song, but it was good. I loved their first CD. It was very eclectic, but had great hooks, lyrics and melodies."In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."
