Yeah, Ted. Nearly same thing happened to me today. I wanted to buy two games so I compared prices on Amazon and Frys sites.
I don't remember exact numbers but basically it was like this:
Before S&H:
Amazon - $95
Fry's - $70
After S&H
Amazon - $97
Fry's - $95
Amazon: Guild Wars + Pirates! = $91.48 + $5.97 S&H = $97.45
Fry's: Guild Wars + Pirates! = $79.76 + $4.83 (Starting price) S&H = $84.59 + Sales tax for Nevada ( )
Perhaps Fry's is charging you (out the ass) a state sales tax as well:
Please note that we charge sales tax for AZ, CA, CT, GA, OH, TX, NV,WA, IL and IN.The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

buying over the internet sucks. I only buy over the internet when I can't find it in the real world.
I recently bought the game Aracanum over amazon.com. I paid $20 for it.
anyone want to check and see if they get a better price for it?
this is only the second time I bought something on amazon.com. The other time was Baldur's Gate: The original saga. I may have been using Internet Explorer back then, I'm not sure.

I usually get a better price online but mainly it saves me alot of time.

I like CNET's price comparison tool. I've saved a lot of money over retail. Retail stores only allow me a chance to actually hold the product before I decide to buy it. The people who work at them are almost uniformly idiotic when it comes to having any useful information about the product. Again the web beats the hell out of retail by allowing you to find useful, pertinent and truthful information about the product. He's got the Midas touch.
But he touched it too much!

Most American consumers don't realize Internet merchants and even traditional retailers sometimes charge different prices to different customers for the same products, according to a new survey.
That happens all the time. If you are a regular customer you get preferential treatment.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget
