  • The Israeli "peace process" is over and the Palestinians are SOLEY to blame

A couple hundred palestinians today decided it would be fun to stone Jews and Christian praying at the Kotel(sic-the western/whailing wall) today.... after this started the Israelis responded by tear gassing a part of the temple mount.

There goes any prospect we had for peace.... now, I am not even sure the Palestinians deserve it. I have been OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of diplomacy over Israel saying "these are the terms, accept them". Israel has bent and bent and bent some more in the last few months yet violent attacks still keep coming......

The peace process is a cancer constantly in relapse. Things will balance out, assuming the evacuations this summer go smoothly. Of course, if an Israeli settler gets killed leaving Gaza or one of the West Bank 'outposts,' you can expect the Sharon government to fall in a hurry. And I do not trust the 'doves' of Avodah to get peace done.

I'm waiting for Palestinian terrorist sympathizers to blame Israelites for the unprovoked stoning of the worshippers.

Some Toronto Star reporters published a story about how they got stoned by Jews because they interviewed some Palestinians about their treatment in a settlement.

If, Vesayen, you got off their land, you might find they're quite nice people.

I'm sorry, but being as though Israel took the land in a war that was started by the other side, and has in it the holiest place in Judaism, I think it's rightfully our land.

The Palestinians aren't to blame. I think you could make a nice pie chart of blame-ness to show who's to blame.
                    Here's a preview:
Arab Dictators [including the PA/PLO/Hamas etc etc] until present day: 70%
British Stupidity in Middle East policy pre-48: 20%
Israeli's policy and actions committed by Israelis til present day: 10%
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

*THEY* attacked.... get ready for it.... are you ready-okay? Be ready..... *US*. We took the land in a war where we were not the aggresor, it is ours. Being crappy in war does not make you a victim, it makes you crappy in war. They should be happy we left the temple mount in Arab hands-I question the rightness of that today.

It's statements like this that neo-nazis use to prove the essential perfidy of all Jews. I'm astonished that you would wish to lend credence to their racist claims.

And the land was illegitimately colonized by Jews without the consent of the people living there. Of course, official Israeli history tends to try to cover this up, but the truth isn't hard to find.

*THEY* attacked.... get ready for it.... are you ready-okay? Be ready..... *US*. We took the land in a war where we were not the aggresor, it is ours.

It's generally recognized as a matter of international law that any land taken by conquest, whether by an aggressor or no, is not the legitimate property of the conqueror. Of course Israel tends to show contempt for international law when it suits it, which of course earns it the contempt of countries that might otherwise be more well-disposed towards Israel's legitimate claims.

Besides, you conveniently ignore the fact that the creation of Israel was a dodgy exercise in ethnic cleansing.

But hey, just go on like normal and don't listen to anyone. If you really think that the balance of power in the Middle East is likely to remain the same as it is now in 50 years time, I'm worried that you would gamble with your lives and the lives of your children in such a reckless manner. Do you think the Americans will always be around to protect you, or that nuclear weapons will be enough to deter seriously pissed off neighbours, who in the current atmosphere of proliferation may well obtain them themselves?

Some of us don't like the idea of the Israelis being slaughtered en masse and the Israeli state being destroyed, that's why we support the withdrawal of Israel to modified pre 1967 borders. Everyone knows that's the only reasonable solution, even most of the Arabs (except for the hardcore nutters, who would be marginalized by any reasonable settlement).

But, if you're determined to do your best to remain pariahs in the region and increasingly throughout the world, don't expect anyone to feel sorry or come to help when you need it. If you think you can maintain the status quo by force, good luck. You can't afford it for a start, and the Americans will probably get tired of paying for it sooner or later. Many of the US most die hard Israeli supporters are Jew hating fundies anyway. Good choice for allies that.

Act like sanctimonious prigs for all I care. Like many people who were sympathetic to the Israeli cause, I don't give much of a **** now. When the inevitable reckoning comes (and it will – that's just how history operates), you'll burn and hardly anyone will care because they're tired of Israel's racist and religious bigotry and flouting of the rules.

But I guess your response will be more sanctimonious blether. Pull the other one...

its all that damn roadmaps fault - how can you expect a group of people who got lost in the desert for 40 years and another group of people who are too poor to drive cars to be able to read a roadmap?
