DC - let us old timers get 5 votes
That was the consideration- but then I realized it would create an almost insurmountable level of votes for the old-timers. especially when everyone else only had 2,1, etc.

My plan for next year (tentatively) is to allow 1999 registerees to vote for 4 different people and limit everyone else to voting for three as tradition has been.

The reasoning would be that 1999ers know more people on the site since they'll have been around longer.

What do you think about that?

And why shouldn't the old timers get more. These are the people that know the site the best, and actually know the history. Who better to determine which people have made significant contributions to the site.

I think 5 votes for the oldsters is better than allowing them to vote for 4 people... so for once, I agree with UR

So, goodbye y'all. It's been interesting.

                      • voting's not quite done yet! 1 more day!

I think 5 votes for the oldsters is better than allowing them to vote for 4 people... so for once, I agree with UR
Eh, I don't know. I mean, that really makes it impossible to get elected without the support of the older people. For example if one person votes for:

MR. A he could have (5)

whereas with registrations in 2001/2 it would take 2 voters to get to (6) [not bad]
but for registrations for 2003/4 it would take 3 voters to get to (6).
And for registrations for 2005, ti would require 5 voters to get to (6).

If the situation were changed next year, it would look like this:

                        1998,1999- 5 votes
                        2000,2001- 4 votes
                        2002,2003- 3 votes
                        2004,2005- 2 votes
                        2006,****- 1 vote

In my proposed system it would be:

                        1998,1999- 4 votes, 4 people
                        2000,2001- 4 votes, 3 people
                        2002,2003- 3 votes, 3 people
                        2004,2005- 2 votes, 3 people
                        2006,****- 1 vote, 3 people

                        It seems fairer.
