        that's not very environmentally friendly.

I have mine set for 81 degrees.

Tape aluminum foil over any windows that are exposed to the sun.

Hose down (with water) any exterior walls that are exposed to the sun.

            26°C isn't hot at all.

You are supposed to set the A/C at 22°C - 24°C anyway.

a couple of things you can do..
buy two of those blue ice packs
rotate them , always keeping one in the
freezer.. put it on your neck and head
that will keep your core temp down a bit.

              also try a mist sprayer.
those seem to work pretty well.

but nothing really beats an airconditioner
if money is tight.. maybe try at goodwill
or salvation army for a used window unit.
or ck the newspaper. even a small one in
the bedroom window would be enough.

also one trick that my grandmother told me
about was laying on wet sheets.
i guess back in the day.. that was one way they
used to stay cool at night.

also putting a fan facing out in one window
and a fan facing in across the room, making
a pulling draft is a good idea , i think someone
              else suggested that.

oh and chewing on ice helps too

i do have to add.. 78F woosie
i was raised in the south.. its not really hot
              till it passes 100 ...

One thing we have in China is a bamboo mat. Just put that on top of your bed sheet - it is better at drawing away your body heat. Check at your local Chinatown. But get one made from bamboo and not that other stuff (some sort of grass I gather).

Isn't the grass mat tatami? I think it's the same stuff that the Japanese use all over their houses...

                        Wear less clothes.

                        Drink more water.

78F is supposed to be what you set your air conditioning to in the summer, IIRC. If you're sweating and it is 78F, I would call a doctor.

26°C with 100% humidity is hot.

It'll be 30°C with 100% humidity here today.

I live in a basement in a house with A/C.

It's about 18C on average these days, cooler than the winter.

I'm sitting here sweating bullets as I type. Environment Canada tells me its 26C, which comes to about 78F. I thought I'd get that out of the way first. Now let me say that I don't care if you Texans or you Californians don't think thats hot. I grew up in New England and I live in Eastern Ontario, so its ****ing roasting for me. As far as I'm concerned anything above 20C is inhuman.

I grew up in Alaska, when I left there it was -20f. Its 80-90f here in NM and it hardly bothers me.

                              Im better than you!

It supposed to get up to 86f with 33% humidity.

80-90f in NM is more bearable than ~80-90F in a place that's incredibly humid.
