    I doubt there will be major hardware issues. As with anything like this, the people who have problems usually complain, the people who don't have issues, don't complain. Thus, the problems become overhyped and are usually blown out of proportion.

      The Xbox 360 is installed and it is BEAUTIFUL.

      I'm totally digging hooking streaming my music collection from my PC in-game. PGR3 is gorgeous, and Perfect Dark 0 is also surprisingly gorgeous -- the screenshots don't do either game justice.

      PD0 has huge, expansive cityscapes in some scenes. I'm doing the Hong Kong nightclub mission right now.

                  Asher, did you set it up horizontally or vertically? Is it a problem inserting disks when its vertical?

                      I'd rather get the better console (ie, the XBox 360).

                            Microsoft will offer, after all, an external HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360.

                            Besides offering brief comments about how Microsoft's next-generation operating system, Windows Vista, would interact with gaming--including a short demo of the next PC Flight Simulator, Gates also revealed that the Xbox 360 would be compatible with a next-generation disc format. As expected, the format in question is HD-DVD, the Toshiba-backed rival to Blu-ray Disc, which is supported by Microsoft's archrival in the next-gen console race, the Sony PlayStation 3. (Ironically, Toshiba partnered with Sony to produce the PS3's Cell CPU.)

                            Also, as one might guess given the fact the 360 has an internal standard DVD drive, the console's HD-DVD drive will be offered as an external peripheral. Microsoft's vice president of worldwide Xbox marketing Peter Moore, who took the stage after a not-so-impromptu 360 Fight Night Round 3 bout between Gates and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, said that the drive would arrive later this year. However, he did not show a final form factor for the drive or name a price point, although stand-alone HD-DVD players are expected to cost in excess of $300.

                              Pioneer's BluRay player's MSRP is $1800US.



                              The PS3 is going to be pretty pricey...

                              It's launching in May.

                                But that's a high end DVD. The "budget" version of Toshiba's first HD-DVD will cost about 500$ US when it comes out this year. Of course, there will also be a more expensive, high end version. And, of course, there will be no movies to play it on
