yeah they get others to do their killings when they can avoid it. but they wouldn't have if they didn't support them.

Nah, thats an easy question to answer. If NV could have taken SV without resistance, they would have used their main resources to supress SV and aided Pol Pot figuring they could create a sattelite state under their control. With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

How is that? Scenario: North Vietnam is about to overrun South, and converting things to communism. South Vietnam kind of against that. They want US to help them, who arrives in time, because they don't want communism to spread. Fighting is going on, and NV starts using other routes for logistics, in Cambodia, in Laos. War spreads and gets more ugly. US is taking it to the routes, because you can't have that going on.. it's not a question of wanting to get innocent people killed, it's warfare, and that's the only way to response to such action. Too bad, but it'll happen. It happens that this thing, bombing and fighting in Cambodia helps Pol Pot, who later on is the main man responsible for Killing Fields. It wasn't what US tried to do. IT wasn't what they wanted. It's what Pol Pot wanted. The true killer was Pol Pot in Cambodia, not the US. US could be taken into debate for using excessive force in Cambodia, resulting to loss of lives and lots of them. But they can't be held responsible for Pol Pot killing people.
But that's just me.In da butt.

The U.S. created the conditions that allowed Pot to come to power, including engineering a coup d'etat against that twit, Sihanook. The invasion and bombings and coup created a groundswell of support for the KR, and the bomgins also resulted in the loss of a massive amount of farmland (both from the bombs themselves and driving peasants off the land). Hence, the conditions were created for a massive famine, which is what occured. Pol Pot and the U.S. take equal blame for the Killing Fields.
What is worse, however, is that once the world knew what occured in Cambodia, after the Vietnamese drove them from power, the U.S. decided to give support to the KR.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Wasn't China behind Pol Pot?I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
