One of my favorite authors (and my favorite sci-fi author)
"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

        Alfred Bester
A pyrotechnic talent who put only a small portion of his energy into writing.

I don't even know this guy.

My favorite is Lem by a long shot.

Hoorah. I was expecting Le Guin or Disch, but I'm very happy with Sam the Man with the Plan.

A quiet and underrated master of "hard science" fiction who, among other things, foresaw integrated circuits back in the 1940s.

James Tiptree, Jr. (Alice B. Sheldon)
In the 1970s she was perhaps the most memorable, and one of the most popular, short story writers. Her real life was as fantastic as her fiction.

The list of published books grows. If you're curious to see what sort of stories I weave out, head to Amazon.com and do an author search for "Christopher Hartpence." Help support Candle'Bre, a game created by gamers FOR gamers. All proceeds from my published works go directly to the project.

I am so thrilled the internet polling community is able to distill ones personality into almost any paradigm. The insights to human knowledge gained from such polls as "What Star Wars Character Are You?" and "Which 2004 American Presidential Candidate (Early Primary Season) Are You?" will keep psychologists and sociologists busy for years.

                        Oh, and...

                        I am:
                        Philip José Farmer
This prolific author brings surprising depths to he-man adventure tales, and broke science fiction's prudery barrier.

Yes, but I think he works better in collaberation with Larry Niven. You might want to check out their Mote in Gods Eye (grand, wide space opera) and Footfall (Earth gets invaded by stupid aliens - Harry Turtledove stole this idea and moved it back 30 years for his Worldwar books) for starters.

                              Bad man.

I did like the first few Riverworld books though....

Although that said, my S.F. optimal persona wrote a notoriously filthy book called 'Tides of Lust' which I daren't even provide a link to, because some mods might think I'm a mammy-ramming porno pirate pervo.

Not that I'm thinking of anyone in particular...

Sir Ralph: Bester is awesome! Read The Demolished Man and The Stars My Destination now!!

                                As for me:
                                I am:
                                Cordwainer Smith (Paul M.A. Linebarger)
This inimitably unique storyteller created a future with so many deep layers of history that all the world we know is practically lost in it.
