And they should keep their filthy hands off of War of the Worlds
Word. I saw a trailer and knew that I won't go and see the movie. Tom Cruise...

I'm just glad Batman is getting serious again.
I see that Michael Uslan and Ben Melniker have credit as executive producers. It could be someone started listening to Uslan again.
Uslan was the one who came up with the idea of jettisoning the Adam-West-boff-pow-Batman-lite version which was such a hit on TV and returning to Batman's brooding roots. Uslan had a lot of input into the first Batman film which was great, but then Guber and Peters used their clout to take away his creative input and to shove him over into an excutive producer role. The movies went downhill after that. I mean, Tim Burton is a genius, but very weird...and his weirdness really hurt the series.

I think that they are trying to conquer all of the mistakes that were made with the previous batman movies (the increasingly revealing outfits) and the even "cooler" batmobiles. It seems to be the anti batmobile as far as the "tradition" goes.
I was excited at the prospect of War of the Worlds, but it looks far crappier than I hadn't hoped. I'd read read the "Whit Mountain Trilogy" instead.

Kalonike: Only we women? Poor Greece!

It looks like it may star Batman rather than the villian.

Hehe... the cinema I go to only charges $5 AUD for students.... which means I can afford to see any crap old film.... even Tom Cruise in a vandalized Wells film.

Funny argument. AFAIK, there's no relation whatsoever between the team that produced The Time Machine and the one that produced The War of Worlds. The guy who directed the Time Machine is a nobody, whereas Spielberg directed War of Worlds...
