  • War of the worlds and Batman begins

Surprisingly, there isn't a thread on these upcoming movies. Well, AFAIK. So what are your expectations? And what's the deal with the new batmobile?

That looks pretty ****in' dumb. So far, the best treatment of Batman has been Batman, the Animated Series.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

The new batmobile is an absolute monstrosity. It's horrible!
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

No better Batman than Adam West!

And they should keep their filthy hands off of War of the Worlds
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards

I liked Tim Burton's version of Batman best. Irc, it was inspired by Frank Miller's cartoon version. The batmobile looked a lot better

Spielberg directed it btw. So it should be entertaining.

I think this is going to be the best batman hands down.
                    Batmobile is weird though.

This Batman's supposed to be grittier, it seems.

I'm thinking it'll be better than the more recent Batman movies, but I'll have to agree--the first animated series was by far the best moving electric picture adaptation of the franchise.

As far as War of the Worlds... at least the walkers look right, but I'm not holding out much hope for it. Especially since after the way Hollywood raped the dead bodies of H.G. Wells (The Time Machine) and Isacc Asimov (I, Robot*), among other movies.

*While nothing can be said to mitigate the crime that is Time Machine, I, Robot suffers from the Enterprise Syndrome--it would have been good, had it been utterly divorced from the franchise they sought to link it to.

I think this isn't a real Batmobile. Looks more like a special purpose Bat-SUV, a Batjeep, a Bat-Humvee or a Bat-APC to me. I bet he still has a real cool Batmobile or Batbike which makes the girls hot

I'm just glad Batman is getting serious again. The batmobile is different this time around for sure but wait and see how they explain it and it goes before we trash the movie.

As far as War of the Worlds go from the trailers it looks pretty great but I'll reserve judgment for the movie.
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

You obviously have no taste. The best movie treatment of Batman is Mask of the Phantasm.

Haven't you heard? Batman doesn't like girls, he likes boys.
