Surely this is not how they are being billed?

btw, Add Neil Young to the Barrie lineup.

Live 8 Bootlegging has already begun

Last Saturday at the Manayunk Arts Festival:

                        This is how it went:
Among the shirtless cell phone guys, *****y CBS-3 reporters, and Mt. Airy earth mommas strolling down Main St. at the Manayunk Arts fest last Saturday was a guy selling Live 8 t-shirts. To these eyes, they looked about as official as that ARROWSMITH t-shirt I bought from the guy in front of the Broad & Pattison SEPTA stop in 1986. So’s I ax the fella with the goods,`Hey, are those officially sanctioned Live 8 shirts, aimed at raising awareness for the African debt?’
`No,’ he said calmly. Gotta admire his honesty..

I still love it here, though..

I know you've all been dying for another update:

Philadelphia's Live 8 lineup is growing.

Russell Simmons, now a producer of Saturday's worldwide consciousness-raiser, today said he'd obtained the rapping services of chart-topper Kanye West, as well as Rita, Ziggy and Stephen Marley, who will lend a reggae edge to Black Eyed Peas' performance. Also, DJ Green Lantern will spin between sets at the Art Museum.

The list of celebrity presenters has grown to include Natalie Portman, Richard Gere, Naomi Watts, Al Sharpton, Chris Tucker, Don Cheadle, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Connelly and Jack Nicholson.

The Live 8 acts will start running through sound checks and camera blocking tomorrow on the stage set up at the Art Museum. Though loudspeakers will be limited to the stage area and sets will be short, a production official says the music will be loud.

A production memo lists Keith Urban going on at 10 a.m., followed at 11 by Sarah McLachlan and Josh Groban, Bon Jovi at 12:15, Rob Thomas at 1:20 p.m., Def Leppard at 2:10 p.m., Toby Keith at 4 p.m., Will Smith at 4:50 p.m., Kanye West at 5:55 p.m., Linkin Park and Jay-Z - now that's a combo - at 7 p.m., and Stevie Wonder at 8:05 p.m.

Saturday - the day of - sound checks are due to begin with Destiny's Child at 7 a.m. Then it's Jars of Clay (7:30), Dave Matthews (8), Alicia Keys (8:30), Kaiser Chiefs (9), and Black Eyed Peas, with the Marleys (9:30). The big show is to start at noon.
